Val Chmerkovskiy Suspended from DWTS for Will Smith Slap Joke

Val Chmerkovskiy has been suspended from "Dancing With the Stars" for one week following an "inappropriate" social media post that referenced Will Smith's 2022 Oscar slap. BBC Studios, the show's producer, stated that the well-being of their staff is non-negotiable and that Chmerkovskiy's post did not reflect the values or standards expected of anyone connected with the show.

As a result of the suspension, Chmerkovskiy will not participate in the upcoming episode. Jenna Dewan is scheduled to dance with Alan Bersten in his place. The incident has sparked discussion about the show's policies and the impact of celebrity actions on television productions.
