Ofsted Inspections Continue to Harm Teacher Mental Health, Survey Reveals

A recent survey commissioned by Ofsted indicates that the current inspection regime is still negatively impacting the mental wellbeing of teachers and senior leaders in English schools. The findings suggest that despite revisions aimed at reducing stress, a significant majority of school leaders report adverse effects on staff mental health.

The survey, which polled school leaders who have experienced the revised inspections since last year, found that 88% believe the process has negatively affected staff mental wellbeing. A notable 29% of respondents stated that the impact was substantial, raising concerns about the ongoing strain placed on educators within the system.
