Budget Mayonnaise Crowned Best in Australian Taste Test

Consumer advocacy group Choice has revealed the results of its latest taste test, naming Aldi's Colway Real Mayonnaise as the best-tasting mayonnaise available in Australian supermarkets. The budget-friendly option tied for first place with a score of 80%, impressing judges with its mild aroma, traditional appearance, and balanced flavor profile.

Notably, Colway Real Mayonnaise also emerged as the cheapest option, costing just $2.79 per jar. Judges praised its creamy, smooth texture, balanced citrus acidity, subtle sweetness, and distinct egg and mustard notes. In contrast, the lowest-ranked product in the test was found to contain double the sugar content of most other tested mayonnaises, highlighting a significant disparity in both quality and nutritional value across the market.
