Millwall Manager Criticized for Comments on Racism Stoppage

Millwall head coach Alex Neil has drawn criticism from the anti-racism campaign group Kick It Out for his remarks following a Championship match against Swansea City. Neil stated that a stoppage in play, initiated due to alleged racist abuse directed at Swansea midfielder Eom Ji-sung, "killed the momentum" of the game.

The match was suspended for approximately seven minutes in the 65th minute after the referee was alerted to the abusive chants. The referee consulted with both managers, the fourth official, and a safety officer before play resumed. Kick It Out emphasized that managers should be setting a positive tone in addressing such incidents.
