Spotify Implements QR Code Verification for Family Plan Users

Spotify is intensifying its efforts to curb the misuse of its Family subscription plans by requiring account owners to verify the location of plan members. Users are now being prompted to scan a QR code to confirm that all individuals on the plan reside at the same address.

This new verification measure follows previous attempts by the streaming giant to enforce its terms of service regarding shared accounts. Failure to comply with the QR code scan could result in account suspension, with some reports indicating a potential lockout period of up to a year for those found to be in violation.
