Sony Xperia 10 VI Loses Android 17 Update Promise

The Sony Xperia 10 VI, launched with Android 14 and a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset, will not receive the promised update to Android 17. Sony had initially committed to three major operating system updates for the mid-range device.

This change in update policy was communicated via a notice on Sony's UK support website. The discontinuation of the Android 17 update means users of the Xperia 10 VI will be left on an older version of the operating system, contrary to earlier assurances.
